Boomer is known now as one
of the biggest bettors who actively works in the business,
having raised the pari-mutuel handle "significantly" in
his places of employment over the years, and spends most
of his down time wagering actively on simulcast tracks.
Extensive experience in
many other aspects of the horse racing business:
having been a director of
racing/racing secretary in Montana,
a jockey agent in Arizona
and even as an alternate
steward in New Mexico.
A well known
columnist and author, currently appearing as a guest
columnist in The Prescott, AZ Daily Courier, providing a
weekly column known as "Boomer from the Backstretch".
He has provided many
"AROUND THE OVAL" stories for Daily Racing Form
over the course of his career, and was a national
handicapper for National Raceline's "Boomer" at Arlington
Park, Chicago, Ill in the late 1980's, as well as
appearing as a guest handicapper and panelist in many of
